OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that they were exposed to fall hazards: a. At a new residential construction site located at, or near, 11 Big Oaks Drive in Apalachicola, Florida: On or about May 13, 2022 and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to fall hazards ranging from 6 to 45-foot, in that fall protection, such as, but not limited to body belt(s) with lanyards(s) was not utilized by employees while they were transported in a Star Industries brand elevated platform that was elevated by a powered industrial truck (rough-terrain forklift), to and from the ground and the roof surface. Abatement certification is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c). |

On the roof of a new residential construction, temporary worksite, located at, or near, 11 Big Oaks Drive in Apalachicola, Florida: On or about May 13, 2022, and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to fall hazards ranging from 6 to 45-foot, in that fall protection was not utilized, while installing metal roofing. Mike Farris, LLC. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1378499, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 2/14/2019, with respect to a workplace located at 4420 Collegiate Lane in Panama City, Florida 32405. |
