29 CFR 1910.95(c)(1): The employer did not administer a continuing, effective hearing conservation program as described in 29 CFR 1910.95(c) through (o) whenever employee noise exposures equal or exceed an 8-hour time-weighted average sound level of 85 decibels measured on the A scale, or equivalently a dose of fifty percent: (a) On or about July 21, 2016, in the Polishing Department, the employer did not establish an effective hearing conservation program for employees who operate polishing tools on stainless steel commercial kitchen cabinetry, who were exposed to continuous noise at 86.98% of the action level noise exposure or the equivalent sound level of approximately 89.0 decibels during 411 minute sampling period; exposure calculations included a zero (0) increment for the 69 minutes not sampled. (a) On or about July 21, 2016, in the Polishing Department, the employer did not establish an effective hearing conservation program for employees who operate polishing tools on stainless steel commercial kitchen cabinetry, who were exposed to continuous noise at 86.81% of the action level noise exposure or the equivalent sound level of approximately 88.9 decibels during 410 minute sampling period; exposure calculations included a zero (0) increment for the 70 minutes not sampled. Custom Stainless Steel Equipment Co. Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 29 CFR 1910.95(c)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 315360263, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on August 7, 2012 with respect to a workplace located at 16215 NW 15th Ave, Miami, FL 33169. |
