Employees installing roof shingles on a 6:12 pitch roof at elevations of 6 feet or more above the ground are not being protected from fall hazards by a fall protection system. The employer fails to assure effective protection against falls as required by the standard, as demonstrated on March 8, 2017, when employees installing roof shingles on a 6:12 pitch roof at 32 Sandra Drive, Lot 17, Ormond Beach, FL 32176, were exposed 10 feet fall hazard above the ground in that they did not have a fall protection system installed. Bert Faircloth Roofing, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1144097, citation number 01, item number 001 and was affirmed as a final order on June 15, 2016, with respect to a workplace located at 3356 Newbliss Court, Ormond Beach, FL 32173.
