We had an account for a Timeshare we had purchased. Which later went into default. But the company that was handling their debt collection, Meridian Financial Services filed a negative report on my credit for the debt 5 1/2 years ago, since that time, they have filed additional negative reports using different account numbers filed 3.5 years ago and again 1.5 years ago. I have tried to inform the credit bureaus, but every time they said they checked with Meridian Financial and they claimed it was accurate. But I only had 1 account, and now have 6 negatives from them for the same account, which they have used a different account number for each. And each month, they continue to report all 6 negative credit reports, And no one seems to be able to get this fraud by this company corrected.

In XX/XX/2023, I was made aware of a collection account added to my credit report under the company Meridian Financial via XXXX XXXX. Upon looking up the account through XXXX XXXX I saw that the original creditor was XXXX XXXX. This is the company that my parents had purchased a timeshare through when I was a child. My mother and I have similar names and were even born in the same month, so I figured it was an error. There is no way this can be my delinquency since I was a child when my parents made this purchase. I have reached out to the company via phone and was informed they can not give me information by phone and had to submit a request in writing. In XXXX I sent out a certified letter and received the signature receipt, but was never given any reply or documentation. Again in XXXX, I sent out another certified letter and received a signature receipt but still was not given any information. I have tried to dispute it via XXXX XXXX and XXXX and it was denied each time, claiming the company says it is accurate. This is impossible. If it is under my social security then it is fraud and someone used my information without my consent, or the credit bureau got my mother and myself confused. I can not be on this debt. I was only a child and have never signed onto this account.

I've been in contact with this company since receiving a demand letter in XXXX ( 2024 ). I requested debt validation documentation as required by the FCCPA. The request was specifically for a signed agreement or any other document that addresses the creditor 's right to the presumed debt and services rendered. The company failed to provide the information and escalated its effort to extort by filing a derogatory report with the credit bureaus.
Further, upon disputing the claim via the credit bureaus, the company certified to the bureaus that the debt was true and correct without providing the requested documentation.
The company continues its refusal to provide the requested information, acting in a malicious and predatory way.

I had purchased a resale timeshare at XXXX XXXX in XXXX Hawaii from their resale office. I was led to believe that when I was finished with the timeshare or just did not want it anymore that I could resell mine through the same office I purchased it from. In late XXXX I contacted XXXX XXXX in an effort to resell my timeshare. I was told the resell office no longer exists. I then told them they could have it back for free because I was no longer interested in the property. They said no thanks and that if I didn't pay, that they will be turning me over to collections. That they did. The collection company name is Meridian Financial and I guy named XXXX calls me every month.

Lastly, they are calling for my old married name ( which I have not had in over 10 years ). They are calling family members too trying to reach this name also. I have been billed for condo association assessments for a property that I do not own and did not own during this billing period : 1. I transferred title to this property on XX/XX/XXXX

3. On XX/XX/XXXX, Meridian Financial Services, a debt collector send me a letter stating my " debt '' had been placed with them for collections. Their contact info is : Meridian Financial Services , Inc .
XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, NC XXXX N.C. Dept of Insurance Permit # XXXX Account manager : XXXX XXXX 4. On XX/XX/XXXX I wrote a letter to Meridian Financial stating that I was not the owner and that I had notified their client of this 3 times previously in writing.
5. On XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX XXXX/Meridian send me another nasty letter demanding payment.
6. On XX/XX/XXXX, my attorney, XXXX XXXX wrote to XXXX XXXX and stated very clearly that I had conveyed the property on XX/XX/XXXX, enclosed a copy of the deed, a copy of the Florida statute showing I was not liable for any assessments after the transfer, that Meridian Financial was in violation of not only Florida law but federal law concerning unfair debt practice act. My attorney demanded that Meridian correct any report that reflects negatively on my credit that had been reported by Meridian.
7. On XX/XX/XXXX I purchase a car. My credit report showed row Meridian had reported negative credit to XXXX and the other major credit bureaus. As a result, my car loan interest rate was considerably higher.
8. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received another demand letter from Meridian.
9. I have disputed the credit reported by Meridian with XXXX. I included all of the written correspondence above. XXXX contacted Meridian, Meridian has certified to XXXX that the original info is correct. So, even after all of this, they refuse to fix their mistake.
Meridian Financial has continued to ignore me and my attorney. HELP

I received a collection letter from Meridian Financial Services of XXXX, NC on XX/XX/2020 claiming I owe XXXX XXXX {$1300.00} for annual maintenance fees. The current balance due stated includes an additional {$450.00}.
I responded with a certified mail letter on XX/XX/2020 stating my notice of dispute and request for debt validation where I listed items I required for further consideration. During this time, Meridian continued phoning me to collect the disputed debt. They replied by forwarding a copy of a deed and an unverified statement of my account. Neither document addressed the validity of the debt nor their authority to collect.
I sent a second request for validation of the debt certified mail on XX/XX/2020. They responded by forwarding the same 2 documents. they fail to provide me with minimal proof that they are authorized to collect or add unitemized charges to the original balance. To date, their calls and letters continue.
