29 CFR 1910.95(c)(1): The employer did not administer a continuing, effective hearing conservation program as described in 29 CFR 1910.9(c) through (o) whenever employee noise exposures equal or exceed an 8-hour time-weighted average sound level of 85 decibels measured on the A scale, or equivalently a dose of fifty percent: a) Sawmill Department: the operator of the AMA Gang Saw 1, was exposed to continuous noise levels at 132.2% of the allowable 8-hour TWA-Action Level (85 dBA). The equivalent dBA of 132.2% is 92.01 dBA. The sampling was performed for 461-minutes during one shift on April 24, 2024. Zero exposure was assumed for the 19-minute period not sampled. b) Sawmill Department: the operator of the AMA Gang Saw 1, was exposed to continuous noise levels at 163.5% of the allowable 8-hour TWA-Action Level (85 dBA). The equivalent dBA of 163.5% is 93.5 dBA. The sampling was performed for 462-minutes during one shift on April 24, 2024. Zero exposure was assumed for the 18-minute period not sampled. c) Sawmill Department: the operator of the Siemens Point Saw , was exposed to continuous noise levels at 133.1% of the allowable 8-hour TWA-Action Level (85 dBA). The equivalent dBA of 133.1% is 92.06 dBA. The sampling was performed for 464-minutes during one shift on April 24, 2024. Zero exposure was assumed for the 16-minute period not sampled. |
