Citation text line | 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(2)(i): Each employee who was constructing a leading edge 6 feet or more above lower levels was not protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: Note: If the employer could demonstrate that it was infeasible or created a greater hazard to use these systems, a fall protection plan meeting the requirements of paragraph (k) of 1926.502 should have been developed and implemented. a. On or about March 16, 2022, employees were exposed to an approximate 22 foot fall hazard while constructing a leading edge/ installing tongue and groove floor sheathing, in that, fall protection was not used. b. On or about March 16, 2022, employees were exposed to an approximate 22 foot fall hazard while installing rebar across the top of the existing sections of vertical rebar along the perimeter of the third floor to serve as a guardrail, in that, fall protection was not used during the installation of the rebar. The employer, PEDRAZA BUILDING HOMES INC, was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1259812, citation number 01, Item number 001A, and was affirmed as a final order on 11/22/2019, with respect to a workplace located at 9608 E. Dr. M.L.K. Jr Blvd, Tampa, FL 33610. |
