29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: On or about October 27, 2016, at the above addressed jobsite, employees were working within the interior area of the third floor of a townhouse, for which the stairs had not yet been installed and for which the stairwell opening did not have a guardrail, which resulted in one of the employees falling from the third floor to the second floor, resulting in the serious injury and subsequent hospitalization of the employee. NOTE: CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION. |
