29 CFR 1926.451(c)(2)(iv): Front-end loaders and similar pieces of equipment were used to support scaffold platforms when they were not specifically designed by the manufacturer for such use: On or about December 12, 2018, in the front of the building under construction, an employee worked from a platform that was not designed by the manufacturer for such use, exposing employees to a fall hazard of approximately 10 feet. IN THE ALTERNATIVE: 29 CFR 1926.602(c)(1)(ii): Modifications or additions which affect the capacity or safe operation of the equipment were made without the manufacturer's written approval: On or about December 12, 2018, in the front of the building under construction, an employee worked from a platform that was held by the forks of a forklift, without the employer getting a manufacturer or registered professional engineer approval prior to use, exposing employees to a fall hazard of approximately 10 feet. |
