29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a. On or about April 17, 2015, on the southeast side of a new commercial construction building, two employees changing a battery on a welding machine, were not protected from a 24 feet 5 inch fall hazard by the use of a personal fall protection system. J & J Welding and Steel Fabrication of Florida, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 982541, citation number 01, item number 02 and was affirmed as a final order on September 8, 2014, with respect to a workplace located at 12905 U.S. Hwy 98, Inlet Beach, FL 32413. |

29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1): Each employee engaged in a steel erection activity who is on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge more than 15 feet (4.6 m) above a lower level was not protected from fall hazards by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems, or fall restraint systems. a. On or about April 17, 2015 on the southwest side of a low slop roof of a new construction building, two employees working on a leading edge were tacking metal decking were not protected from a 23 foot 7 inch fall hazard by the use of a personal fall protection system. b. On or about April 17, 2015 on the southeast side of a low slop roof of a new construction building, two employees working on a leading edge were tacking metal decking were not protected from a 23 foot 8 inch fall hazard by the use of a personal fall protection system.
