Employees performing roofing work on a roof six feet or more above the ground are not protected from fall hazards by a fall protection system. The employer fails to assure effective protection against falls as required by the standard, as demonstrated on April 10, 2017, when employees were tearing off and installing new roofing weather barrier and shingles on a 2-story residence at 12960 Julington Ridge Drive East, Jacksonville, Florida 32258 without the use of complete fall protection systems and were exposed to fall hazards of from 8-foot 6-inch to and 22-foot 10-inch. Roofing R US Systems, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1167770, citation number 01, item number 001 and was affirmed as a final order on February 24, 2017, with respect to a workplace located at 612 Robin Lane, Kissimmee, FL. |
