29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a) On or about 11/19/2021, on the southwest 9th floor exterior elevation of a building under renovation located at 2800 North SR - A1A in Hutchinson Island, Florida, employees performing concrete restoration work on a balcony with unguarded edges were exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 70 feet while not being protected from falling to the lower level. b) On or about 11/19/2021, on the northwest 11th floor exterior elevation of a building under renovation located at 2800 North SR - A1A in Hutchinson Island, Florida, employees performing concrete restoration work on a balcony with unguarded edges were exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 86 feet while not being protected from falling to the lower level. |
