Employees removing and replacing a roof system at elevations of six feet or more above the ground are not being protected from fall hazards by a fall protection system: The employer fails to assure effective protection against falls as required by the standard, as demonstrated on June 2, 2023, when employees removing and replacing a roof system on the 5:12 pitch roof of a one-story residence, located at 9417 Arbor Glen Lane, Jacksonville in Florida 32208, were exposed to the hazards ranging from 9 to 15 foot fall to the ground in that they did not utilize any method or form of fall protection systems. The employer routinely fails to assure effective protection against falls as required by the standard, as demonstrated on February 17, 2017, when employees were re-roofing a one-story residence at 4180 Heath Rd., Jacksonville, Florida 32277 without fall protections and were exposed to fall hazard of up to 11 feet 7 inches above the surrounding ground.
