OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that, employees were exposed to struck-by hazards: On or about March 17, 2021, employees were using air compressors/ compressed air to operate pneumatic hand tools/ equipment, such as angle-grinders and belt sanders during the manufacturing of wooden cabinetry and furniture; wherein the compressed air was supplied throughout the facility via PVC pipe/ water pipe at a pressure of approximately 160 PSIG; therefore exposing the hand tool operator and other employees in the work area to eye, face and skin pneumatic explosive struck-by hazards from the release of the compressed air and flying PVC pipe/ hand tool debris. |
