29 CFR 1910.1000(c): Employees were exposed to Silica, Crystalline Quartz (Respirable Fraction) in excess of the 8-hour time weighted average limits of 0.44 mg/m3 and 0.80 mg/m3 listed in Table Z-3: a. An employee dry cutting granite was exposed to Silica, Crystalline Quartz (Respirable Fraction) at a Time Weighted Average (TWA) of 0.83 milligrams per cubic meter (mg/m3), 1.9 times the limit of 0.44 mg/m3. The sampling was performed for 78 minutes during one shift on April 8, 2015. b. An employee dry cutting granite was exposed to Silica, Crystalline Quartz (Respirable Fraction) at a Time Weighted Average (TWA) of 1.01 milligrams per cubic meter (mg/m3), 1.3 times the limit of 0.80 mg/m3. The sampling was performed for 215 minutes during one shift on April 8, 2015. |
