29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b): a) The employer fails to assure effective protections against falls as required by the standard, as demonstrated on September 1, 2020 when employees installing roof shingles on a new one story residential dwelling are not protected from falling by any means of personal fall protection, guardrails or safety nets, exposing them to falls in excess of 9-feet, 8-inches to the ground below. Florida's Best Roofing, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1239436, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on July 31, 2017, with respect to a workplace located at 12 Westbrook Place, Palm Coast, FL 32164. |
