Citation text line | 29 CFR 1910.95(c)(1): The employer did not administer a continuing, effective hearing conservation program as described in 29 CFR 1910.9(c) through (o) whenever employee noise exposures equal or exceed an 8-hour time-weighted average sound level of 85 decibels measured on the A scale, or equivalently a dose of fifty percent: On or about February 26, 2013, at the above addressed jobsite: a) An employee working as a polisher was exposed to continuous noise at 232% of the permissible 8-hour Time Weighted Average sound level of 90 dBA, or an equivalent sound level of 96 dBA during a 454-minute sampling period. Zero exposure was assumed for the un-sampled period of time (26 minutes). b) An employee working as a fabricator was exposed to continuous noise at 233% of the permissible 8-hour Time Weighted Average sound level of 90 dBA, or an equivalent sound level of 96.1 dBA during a 454-minute sampling period. Zero exposure was assumed for the un-sampled period of time (26 minutes). c) An employee working as a wood worker was exposed to continuous noise at 66% of the permissible 8-hour Time Weighted Average sound level of 90 dBA, or an equivalent sound level of 87.1 dBA during a 454-minute sampling period. Zero exposure was assumed for the un-sampled period of time (26 minutes).
