Complaint What Happened I have for the past 20 years or so been contacted by several different Collector Agencies ref another individual. Knowing these debts if any are sold to other agencies attempting to collect. It is beyond my comprehension how these agencies have associated my phone numbers with this individual. Since @ XX/XX/XXXX Collector Agencies have been in pursuit of XXXX XXXX XXXX. I do have knowledge of XXXX XXXX as he married my ex-wife. Other than this I know nothing more. How every phone number I have had ( XXXX ) through the years even when I lived in XXXX XXXX XXXX, these Collector Agencies have located my phone numbers convinced I was in frequent contact with XXXX XXXX. I had not heard from any Collector Agencies for several years until now, I received a call on XXXX XXXX, 2015, again looking fo XXXX XXXX. How they are still finding my phone number is a mystery. I did return the call to this so call Law Office suggesting they should cease and desist any more calls to my residence. This order by me met with ... .. Complaint What Happened I sent a debt validation letter including to stop calling my cell phone to Oxford Law , LLC. I kept records of the phone log and pictures of my cell phone. Oxford Law , LLC never validated the debt and continued to call my cell phone without my consent. I retained an attorney to sue Oxford Law , LLC for violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act in Federal Court. Due to the overwhelming evidence against Oxford, they settled with me. We settled at mediation for less that what was due because Oxford claimed they would file bankruptcy if we received a larger settlement. My attorney filed a Motion to Dismiss the federal case and the federal court did not retain jurisdiction of the case. Oxford Law sent only one payment from a different company, XXXX XXXX, XXXX and then stopped paying on the settlement agreement. My attorney filed another complaint in state court and Oxford Law did not respond to the complaint. There was a default judgment against Oxford Law in state court. I hired a judgment specialist to find Oxford 's assets in order to garnish it to pay the judgment but Oxford Law is hiding its assets. It is a total hypocrisy for Oxford Law to harass people for debts they can never validate and then not pay on a settlement agreement for their violations of consumer protection laws. I am working to see if Oxford Law , LLC will pay the judgment against it. It is highly unethical that the attorneys that own Oxford Law , LLC will not pay the settlement agreement and then not pay the state court judgment.
