Complaint What Happened My account was incorrectly sent to collections by XXXX XXXX. My credit card was lost and replaced. It was an auto-debit and I was no longer attending the gym. Even though I was not informed by any means of an outstanding amount. I got a letter from Aldous and Associates in Utah that I had a balance. I went to XXXX XXXX and paid the balance in full. I have the receipt. XXXX XXXX said they will clear the item with Aldous and Associates. I also spoke with Aldous and the rep assured me that they will make contact with XXXX. Fast Forward, there is a collection item that dropped my credit score by XXXX points from XXXX. I was under contract for a property and lost my deposit. The negative item was added on XX/XX/2022 and I made payment on XX/XX/2022. The collection letter was dated XX/XX/2022.

Complaint What Happened I enrolled in a XXXX fitness program in the spring of 2023, I believe it would have been XXXX or XXXX. Someone in my life passed away causing me to move and I was no longer able to attend the gym and wished to cancel my membership. I contacted them multiple times to cancel my membership and they refused and continued to try to charge me. After my last attempt at communication they never responded. I assumed they canceled my membership as I was no longer getting charges for it from my bank. I found out today that they sold my debt to Aldous & Associates, I was not aware of a debt as I believed my membership to be cancelled and was never told otherwise. The debt is in the amount of of {$260.00}, which I am sure seems like a small amount but I simply do not have this money in my budget, my bills increased exponentially after I had to move due to loss. But I also don't believe I should have to pay this and that this is a result of Crunch fitness 's horrible customer service lack of empathy for its patrons, as I requested several times to cancel this membership. When I called A & A to dispute the debt as it says I can do on the letter, the woman on the phone told me that I had to write my dispute and it's the only way they'd accept it. Which I think is wrong as it says I can dispute it over the phone.

I have circled the items I dispute on the attached copy of my credit report ( s ). This item XXXX rent payment is inaccurate because at the height of the Covid 19 Pandemic late XXXX when all businesses were ordered closed, citizens were told to avoid all contact or interaction with others, XXXX XXXX XXXX was closed for classes, only on-line education was allowed. I began suffering XXXX XXXX and was under therapy from accredited XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX and was not able to return to XXXX as advise by school authorities, the CDC as detailed in their mandates. This egregious and fraudulent charge from this firm stated hereto goes completely against The Individuals With Disabilities Education Act of 2004 ( IDEA ) I am requesting that XXXX have the item removed. Enclosed are copies of Physcologist letter detailing treatment being adminiserde supporting my request. Complaint What Happened Aldous & Associates have intentionally attempted to harrass me. The company has called multiple times and when I answer there is a prerecorded message demanding that I call to make a payment. I have advised several representatives to stop calling. Every time I block XXXX number they start calling from another number. This company has called me during my work hours. They have called me while I am in bed going to sleep. They have made this matter a complete nightmare.

Complaint What Happened I had credit card fraud. You fit called abt my payment. I told the girl i wanted to cancel bc 1. They are taking more money then contracted for without my auth 2. They changed gym. I had abt 4 more ppl call. I told them all same. 5. They all said ok. They all had obligation to advise me if it needed to be in writing. Despite that they all said ok. They turned over to collections. Not only did i advise that gym breached contract by charging me almost {$13.00} when my contract was for 10, they can not use a contract they voided by not complying but they also had an obligation to advise me they needed in writing rather than agree to the cancellation by saying ok. Further they owed me almost XXXX $ a month for i believe XXXX or 4 years. The belligerent collector than sends me a copy of an unsigned/undated contract, which has no mention of the what the monthly monetary amts are, and very different from the signed contract i found in my files. They are all committing fraud in an attempt to collect on monies that are not due.
