Citation text line | 29 CFR 1910.138(a): The employer did not select and require employee(s) to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasion; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes: a. On or about 2/20/2019, in the Florida Mall in Orlando, FL employees working out of a food kiosk were directed to use a hand held canister of Chef Master Butane fuel with a torch assembly attached, while heating up condiments on hot dogs. The employees were not provided adequate personal protective equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, hand and arm protection. |
