| Citation text line | 29 CFR 1910.95(c)(1): The employer did not administer a continuing, effective hearing conservation program as described in 29 CFR 1910.95(c) through (o) whenever employee noise exposures equal or exceed an 8-hour time-weighted average sound level of 85 decibels measured on the A scale, or equivalently a dose of fifty percent: a) At various workplaces throughout Pinellas County, employees were not enrolled in a Hearing Conservation Program when exposed to continuous noise levels at 138.9% (92.3 dBA) of the permissible daily noise exposure (8-hour time-weighted average sound level of 90 dBA) during the 423 minute sampling period. Zero exposure was assumed for the 57 minute period not sampled. This violation was discovered on or about November 1, 2017. b) At various workplaces throughout Pinellas County, employees were not enrolled in a Hearing Conservation Program when exposed to continuous noise levels at 123.5% (91.5 dBA) of the permissible daily noise exposure (8-hour time-weighted average sound level of 85 dBA) during the 415 minute sampling period. Zero exposure was assumed for the 65 minute period not sampled. This violation was discovered on or about November 1, 2017. |
