29 CFR 1910.134(c)(1): A written respiratory protection program that included the provisions in 29 CFR 1910.134(c)(1)(i) - (ix) with worksite specific procedures was not established and implemented for required respirator use: a) On or about January 18, 2018, in the powder coating work area, where the employees wear a half mask respirator voluntarily while engaged in activities related to the spray powder coating of metal parts, the employer failed to establish and implement a written respiratory protection program, exposing the employee to health hazards related the use of respirators. On or about March 17, 2017, in the chemical stripping area in the back of the powder coating work bay, the employer failed to ensure that an employee dipping metal parts inside a tank containing "B17 Industrial Paint Stripper", a chemical containing 55 to 65% Methylene Chloride, wore chemical resistant eye protection to protect him from possible chemical burns to the eyes. |
