OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: the employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: a. On or about November 12, 2014, in the interior of the structure, five employees used a wooden job made ladder without filler blocks inserted between the rungs to support the cleats, nor did the ladder have a 2 x 6 side rails, exposing themselves to a fall hazard. b. On or about November 12, 2014, in the interior of the structure, five employees used a wooden job made ladder that did not have adequate support, in that there were not three nails per side, per rung installed on the ladder, exposing the employees to a fall hazard. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to, but not limited to the following: (1) conform to the American National Standard Institute (ANSI) A14.4-1992, section 4.5.2. |
