29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501(b): a. Employees performing decking at elevations up to 25 feet or more above the ground are not protected from fall hazards by a fall protection system. The employer fails to assure effective protection against falls as required by the standard, as demonstrated on February 29, 2016, when employees installing truss bracing and decking on a 6:12 pitch residential home located at 4904 SW 58th Place, Ocala, FL are exposed up to a 25 feet fall hazards in that they are not protected by a fall protection system. Garcia Carpentry, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1014642 citation number 01, item number 001 and was affirmed as a final order on February 12, 2015, with respect to a workplace located at 1645 Spinfish Drive, Apopka, FL 32712. |

At lot 1068 an employee while walking the top of a residential block wall was exposed to fall hazards in that no fall protection system was being used to protect him from a 10-foot fall hazard, on or about December 18, 2014. (b). At lot 1069 employees installing roof trusses were exposed to fall hazards in that no conventional or alternative fall protection system was used to protect them from fall hazards equal to and greater than 10 feet, on or about December 18, 2014. (c). At lot 1068 employees installing roof decking on a 5:12 pitched roof were exposed to fall hazards in that no conventional or alternative fall protection system was used to protect them from falls equal to and greater than 18 feet from the eave of the roof to the ground below, on or about December 24, 2014. |
