Citation text line | 29 CFR 1910.95(c)(1): The employer did not administer a continuing, effective hearing conservation program as described in 29 CFR 1910.9(c) through (o) whenever employee noise exposures equal or exceed an 8-hour time-weighted average sound level of 85 decibels measured on the A scale, or equivalently a dose of fifty percent: a) On or about October 13, 2016 at the above addressed job site, an employee performing grass cutting with a STIHL trimmer (no model number) and blowing debris with a STHIL BR 430 blower was exposed to noise dose of 68.94% or an equivalent of 87.3 dBA which was capable of causing permanent hearing loss. Monitoring was performed for 233 minute sampling time and zero exposure for the remaining 247 minutes of the 8 hour shift. a) On or about October 13, 2016 at the above addressed job site, an employee performing grass cutting with a STIHL trimmer (no model number) and blowing debris with a STHIL BR 430 blower was exposed to noise dose of 72.32% or an equivalent of 87.6 dBA which was capable of causing permanent hearing loss. Monitoring was performed for 230 minute sampling time and zero exposure for the remaining 250 minutes of the 8 hour shift. |
