Complaint What Happened Company was persistent and I told them to not call me anymore. Then one day, I received a call from my mother advising that she was informed about my debt from this debt collector. I do n't believe it was right to release this information, as they informed her about the amount I owed. This was my first issue with the debt collector. Then, in good faith I began to have scheduled payments taken out of my bank account every month with them in 2015, then one month I called in advance advising them that I had a new job and since I now would be working with the state, I would be paid monthy instead of biweekly and needed to have a payment date moved. They agreed. However, the amount was still taken out of my account and I received overdraft fees. I then, called and asked them to reverse this. And the debt collector said that I never had called. I find this to be unethical. I did everything I could to do the right thing. I had to call my bank and tell them that this was unauthorized.

Complaint What Happened Northland group sent me a letter attempting to collect a debt. I sent a debt validation letter that they received on XX/XX/XXXX,2017 asking them to validate the debt. Legal debt validation is a complete payment history, an agreement that bares my signature, letter of sale or assignment from original creditor to their company, a signed agreement that bares my signature with authority to collect on this debt, information relating to the purchase of this debt is not proprietary or burdensome. Under FDCPA section 809 ( b ) Northland Group is not allowed to pursue collection activity until debt is validated. Courts ruled that reporting a collection account indeed is considered activity.

Complaint What Happened I had an old dept. and a collection company bought the dept., I challenged them with a letter in accordance to fair credit Act which they had 30 days to respond under federal law and they had to remove it from my credit reports. They have not removed it and they have not responded. I tried contacting them but they are very rude and no resolve.

Complaint What Happened I called to North Group Inc. Because I received a collection bill from them, after providing them with all of my information for their verification, even though they sent a letter to my home with the enclosed bill, I was told that my date of birth did not match, even though all of my other information was correct, after speaking with XXXX different people I was told that there was nothing they could do and the only help they can give me was by deleting my address from the mailing list which it will not really help me since I can not even dispute the debt since my date of birth does not match, so in 30 days the debt will be recorded to collections under my name and social, hence why I am making the complaint asking for help.

Complaint What Happened I am attaching proof that i filed a complaint with the florida office of financial regulation-division of consumer finance. The company XXXX XXXX, XXXX, is a company that isn't licensed to collect in the state of Florida, I verified the license thru the Florida website and this company name or any variation of the spelling is not listed at all. I even called that same office and asked them to verify that was search for that company license was correctly done. I was informed by the rep that my search was done correctly and they did not show that company not having a license. They also informed me that Northland group put in for a name change, to XXXX XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a letter from Norhtland Group informing me that I owe a debt and need to work out a settllement. My complaint is 1 ) they are not licensed to collect in the state of Florida as XXXX XXXX, XXXX which is who contacted me in writing, and 2 ) they are issuing Fraudulent allegations, stating that I owe XXXX XXXX, XXXX, and they aren't even operating under their correct name. This is clearly a FCRA violation.
