XXXX XXXX XXXX Account Number : XXXX Date of birth : XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX Florida XXXX Todays date : XX/XX/XXXX Empower Finance XXXX XXXX XXXX, Floor XXXX, XXXX XXXX, California XXXX Re : Disputing error [ XXXX ] on credit report Dear Empower Finance, I am writing to request a correction on the following information that appears on my [ XXXX, XXXX, XXXX ] consumer report : -Account number XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX -The report shows that I currently owe money to your company, which is inaccurate. On multiple occasions, I have attempted to contact your company via email and phone call to determine the exact details of this debt that is currently on my credit report. Your company has failed to find this debt and allow me to legally pay the debt if it was mine. On XX/XX/XXXX, I sent an email to Empower Finance asking what this debt is that has been reporting to my credit report. This debt collector has been negatively affecting my credit and reporting as so. The company stated they sold this debt to another third party debt collector. They provided the number so I can call the third party debt collector. I called the third party debt collector ( Trueaccord ) on XX/XX/XXXX who informed me via email and phone call that they transferred this debt back to Empower finance ( the original debt collector. ) I then forwarded that email to Empower on XX/XX/XXXX indicating that XXXX does not have this debt that they are claiming I owe. XXXX emailed me back on XX/XX/XXXX stating that they would work on the issue. I then called Empower again on the XXXX of XXXX and advised me that they would have a supervisor returning my call to expedite the handling of this lost debt. This account is negatively affecting my credit and is falsely reporting as opened. It is affecting my credit decisions. Please delete this debt.
