Citation text line 29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee potentially exposed to fall hazards to enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards: a). On or about August 19, 2016 the employer fails to assure effective protection against falls as required by the standard, as demonstrated on August 19, 2016, when employees are removing roof shingles from a one story steep slope 5:12 pitch residential structure and are exposed to falls in excess of 10 feet to the ground below because they are not protected nor did they recognize the need for personal fall protection, guardrails, or safety nets. b). On or about August 20, 2016 the employer fails to assure effective protection against falls as required by the standard, as demonstrated on August 20, 2016, when the owner and his employees are installing roof shingles on a one story steep slope 5:12 pitch residential structure and are exposed to falls in excess of 10 feet to the ground below because they are not protected nor did they recognize the need for personal fall protection, guardrails, or safety nets.
