Citation text line | 29 CFR 1910.1450(e)(1): Where hazardous chemicals were used in the workplace, the employer did not develop and carry out the provisions of a written Chemical Hygiene Plan which was capable of protecting employees from health hazards associated with hazardous chemicals: a. On or about October 16, 2012, at the analysis and research laboratory, the employer did not carry out the provisions of their written Chemical hygiene Plan in that the employer did not ensure that all laboratory fume hoods were functioning properly. Specific measures such as routine maintenance, calibrations, and routine evaluations of the LabCono Basic 47 laboratory fume hood, were employees handled hazardous chemcials such as, but not limited to, methylene chloride, was not conducted. |
