XXXX, a cable and internet provider, had supplied service to my prior residence located at XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, XXXX. I moved on XX/XX/2022. I terminated service on XX/XX/2022 and all equipment was surrendered. Enclosed is a copy of the receipt they provided which specifically acknowledges that all services were terminated and all equipment was surrendered. Weeks after the move, XXXX rendered a bill for services beginning on XX/XX/2022. I sent a letter to the company dated XX/XX/2022, together with a copy of their receipt showing that all services were terminated and all equipment was surrendered and they called my cell phone several days later to state that my letter was received, an error was made and no monies were due. I asked them to acknowlege this in writing. They refused. They said that I would receive another invoice showing a XXXX balance. The writing which they promised never arrived- all mail was forwarded by USPS to my new address.
Today, I received notice from a third party debt collector, CBHV, claiming that I am in arrears for failing to pay the precise amount that was described in my letter of XX/XX/2022 - which XXXX claimed was not due.

Shortly after having imaging the Insurance requested more information. The requested documentation was sent in a timely manner. I noticed this debt appeared on my credit report in around XX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/2017 when I had a credit report ran. When I contacted the debt collector ( collection bureau of XXXX ) they said it was never paid. I then contacted my previous health insurance company ( XXXX ) they said they see on there end where they did receive the requested information from me but somehow it was never sent to XXXX to be paid. They admitted it was there mistake, apologized and then said they are no longer contracted with my previous employer ( institute for family health ) so the ca n't do anything about the claim at this point. Last I spoke with my insurance they said they received all needed information and claim would be paid. Now I have this debt that I may have never known about if I would of never had my credit report ran.

They violated a reporting law and I asked them to remove the collection off my credit report. They have not responded concerning this portion of the letter. They have unlawfully reported this debt to the credit bureaus. Their offenses have amount to aggravated identity theft pursuant to 18 U.S.C 1028A. I have not given them permission to access my credit profile and they have knowingly transferred, possessed or used, without lawful authority, a means of identification of me, which is a felony punishable with up to 2 years of imprisonment. They have not responded to me addressing this issue and this is my complaint.

Just recently, upon checking my credit reports, I found thatXX/XX/XXXXhas yet again placed a fraudulent collections account on my record under both names XX/XX/XXXXand Collection Bureau of the Hudson Valley. ( same account XXXX Original complaint number XXXX. - Submitted to the CFPB on XX/XX/XXXX I originally submitted a complaint on XX/XX/XXXX regarding this same exact account, ( complaint number above ) at that time XXXX had a company called XXXX XXXX XXXX reach out to me regarding this collections. At that time, I was told by XXXX XXXX XXXX that I would need to reach out to XXXX directly to try and solve this issue.
As stated in my previous complaint regarding this company ( complaint # XXXX XXXX " I called and spoke with customer service on XX/XX/XXXX and was told in order to prove my identity and have the collections removed, i would need to submit proof of my address during the month of XX/XX/XXXX. The same day I spoke with the representative in the collections department at XX/XX/XXXX I submitted the proof via the email I was given, i submitted my ID, along with my bank statement and my auto loan statements, although that was not required. " I called the morning of XX/XX/XXXX and spoke with a customer service rep in the same collections department who confirmed that the information had been received.
THIS NEEDS TO BE REMOVED NOW! THE DEBT DOES NOT BELONG TO ME AND THAT HAS BEEN PROVEN After submitting my initial complaint on XX/XX/XXXX, I got a response from XXXX XXXX XXXX stating that had reached out to optimum and were unsuccessful at getting any Information regarding the account therefore they were ceasing all collection activity and the account was removed, as it should've.
This account has reappeared on my credit reports. Ive already sent in the information requested to optimum in order to verify my address as requested so I will not be providing any more Information to this company.
Please remove this now! Its bad enough we are in the middle of one of the worst pandemics in American history, but to try and take advantage of people during this time is seriously sickening.

1st phone call with Hudson Valley occurred on XX/XX/2018 - They requested amount of {$2300.00} for charged off account balance of {$1800.00}. I requested explanation of difference in amount and they explained this was amount from original creditor ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ). Confirmed with XXXX XXXX XXXX on same day the amount reported by Hudson Valley that was incorrect. Hudson Valley has requested incorrect amounts and has threatened to sue for account if account is not paid in full amount for balance of {$2300.00}.
Hudson Valley has also never sent out Debt Validation letter to home address after numerous attempts of doing so over the phone and in writing.

Collection Bureau Hudson Valley , Inc. is attempting to collect a debt that does not belong to me. Collection Bureau Hudson Valley , Inc. is reporting a delinquent collection account to XXXX XXXX and XXXX that does not belong to me and is reporting incorrectly as if it does. It's hurting my credit score and I need this removed immediately.
I've attempted to resolve this by contacting the company asking for validation of this alleged debt. I sent out correspondence ( debt validation letter ) via USPS mail onXX/XX/2021, as well as faxed them a copy the same day at XXXX ( See attached confirmation ) I have yet to receive any form of sufficient validation of this debt, or any correspondence at all from Collection Bureau Hudson Valley , Inc . I am requesting legal action to terminate this account immediately and have it deleted from all major credit bureaus. Thank you.
