29 CFR 1910.133(a)(3): The employer shall ensure that each affected employee who wears prescription lenses while engaged in operations that involve eye hazards wears eye protection that incorporates the prescription in its design, or wears eye protection that can be worn over the prescription lenses without disturbing the proper position of the prescription lenses or the protective lenses. On or about October 2, 2018, at 9250 W Flagler Street, Miami, FL 33174, the employer did not ensure that each affected employee who wore prescription lenses while engaged in operations that involved eye hazards wore eye protection that incorporated the prescription in its design, or wore eye protection that could be worn over the prescription lenses without disturbing the proper position of the prescription lenses or the protective lenses. Employees are required to perform janitorial activities and work with hazardous chemicals, including but not limited to, Germicidal Bowl Cleanse (a corrosive containing Hydrochloric Acid with a pH of <1) and Bravo Heavy-Duty Low Odor Stripper (a corrosive containing Sodium Hydroxide with a pH of 13). |
